Reviews for The Conductor:
A vivid tale of magic and self-discovery...
Hardwick creates a first-rate blend of magic and grit in this second outing in The Circle series... Hardwick skillfully keeps various threads of the plot together, and as various subplots converge, the different backstories merge to form a highly satisfying and unified whole. The novel's real power lies in Hardwick's perceptive and sensitive portrayal of her characters: Soraya's struggles with her fears, self-doubts, and identity issues are sketched with credibility and understanding, making her a heroine the reader will love to root for... The Conductor: Book Two of The Circle is an engaging, mesmerizing, and thrilling novel by Brenda Hardwick. Though it is the second book in this series, it stands on its own... The author knows how to engage the reader, and thus, the plot-construction is wonderful. The action begins from the first sentence of the book... The details are embedded so beautifully along with the story that one never feels bored while reading them. My most liked fact about the book is that it discusses the issue of racism. While reading, one would find that the author has highlighted this problem throughout the book... I would recommend it to people who love reading books with magic and mystery. ...Onlinebookclub.org --This text refers to the paperback edition.
Reviews for Harlem Angel:
"Hardwick’s (Laughing Your Life Healthy, 2017) thriller offers a chilling premise and memorable protagonists. The novel starts off on a strong note with a tense action sequence that effectively establishes a sense of danger and highlights Soraya’s special abilities. Hardwick ably maintains a quick pace as the story shifts from Soraya to Shawn as his plan unfolds. The major players are well-drawn: Soraya is a likeable heroine who tries to balance the responsibilities of her newly discovered abilities with caring for her mother, and the racist Shawn is a deeply unsympathetic but complex villain whose narrative arc takes some surprising turns." -- Kirkus Reviews

Harlem Angel 5* Review:
An entertaining fantasy ~
I just finished reading "Harlem Angel, Book One of The Circle" and I loved it. The story is compelling and pulls you into the book. I don't usually read fantasy but I find this book to be an entertaining mixture between fantasy and reality with current day themes as well as historical themes. The characters are very interesting and compelling so I want to learn more about them. The ending is a "cliff hanger" and I'm anticipating Book 2.

BIO
It was in high school when Brenda first picked up a copy of The Hobbit… she was hooked. Brenda began writing poetry in the 3rd grade. Then she started writing stories. Fantasy was where she landed because she could create everything and place it anywhere and anywhen she wanted.
After winning second place in Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Colorado Gold Contest with the first three chapters of Harlem Angel in 1993, life happened.
Later Brenda received inspiration through meeting her favorite author, Anne McCaffrey,
who published her first novel after the age of 50. Brenda knew she would get it done, and that the other stories she had to tell would gain life as well. Now, with 4 books self-published and several titles in the works, she continues to pursue and fulfill her dreams.
Brenda still considers herself a Colorado author even though she now lives in Portugal with her youngest son and his family (the twins!). She moved with her dog Lelu, and now she writes and helps care for her twin granddaughters.
